George married Anne Moore in Blandford, Dorset, England, in 1831. Anne was born 1811 in Hinton St. Mary, Dorset, England, and died 8 December 1893 in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. They had at least eight children:

Garth Strong, who obtained the above census data, writes, "I couldn't find Troytown on a map but that could be because the alternative name for Iwerne Courtnay is Shroton, which has possibly been mis-transcribed as Troytown."

She married Leonard Bannister in Chilwell, Victoria, on 26 February 1889. Leonard was born in Geelong, Victoria, 12 January 1870 and died 3 November 1939 in Cheltenham, Victoria. They had seven children:

She married James Ellis Glover and they came to Dunback, Otago, and were settlers there."

Garth Strong of Narrandera, N.S.W., Australia, is related to George Strong (1850-?), and adds further, "My great great grandfather, George Strong, had 7 children: Charles (1876-1960), Ethel (1877-1944), William James (1879-1879), Godfrey Harold (1880-1958), Robert Harry (1884-1961), Olive Ada (1885-?) Beatrice (1887-1963?). My grandfather, Robert, had two sons, Wilfred George (1909-1992) and Geoffrey Robert (1913-1998). My father Wilfred had 4 sons Peter (1936- ) Garth (1942-) Graeme (1947-1960) and Ralphe (1949-). Peter's mother died in 1939 and my father re-married in 1941." He adds, "A few years ago a great granddaughter of George Strong contacted me researching the Strong family. Her name is Elizabeth Rensford and is married to a New Zealander, Brian Rensford.
