Richard's Family

Richard Brew was born 10 February 1833 in Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Wales, and died 10 August 1913 in the Strand, London, Middlesex, aged 80. Richard served over 21 years with the Royal Regiment of Artillery from 1855-1877. During this time he spent some 14 years overseas, which explains his late marriage. He married Ann Hewett, who was born ca. 1858 in St. Martins in the Field, Middlesex, on 7 September 1878 in the Register Office, Strand, London, Middlesex. Ann died 1 December 1935 in Westminster, London, Middlesex, aged ca.77. Their children were: 

1. William Thomas Brew, born 10 July 1879 in St. Martins in the Field, Middlesex, died 10 June 1946 in London, England, aged 66. He married firstly Gwendoline Tudor Parry, born ca. 1879 in England, on 27 December 1899 in the Register Office, Strand, London, Middlesex. They had one daughter:

1. Gladys Gaynor Brew, born 9 February 1905, died 22 July 1987, aged 82, married William Lock, 1932

William Thomas married secondly Kathleen Francis Moyes, born 6 May 1893 in West Ham and died 2 November 1931, aged 38. By her, William had two further children:

3. Richard Henry William Brew, born 2 August 1915, died 13 August 1997, aged 82, who married May Ester Wratten, born 17 May 1917, died 18 February 1997, aged 79

2. Annie Louisa Brew, born ca. 1881 in St. Martins in the Field, Middlesex, and died 1883 in St. Martins in the Field, Middlesex, aged 2
3. Sarah Elizabeth Brew, born ca. 1882, died 14 June 1963, aged 81 est., who had a son:

4. Mary Anne Brew, born ca. 1883, who married Alfred Nelson Baker, who was killed 19 October 1918 in Ypres, Belgium. Their children were:

1. Alfred Baker, died 1991
2. Gladys Baker, born 16 September 1913, who married John Paul
3. Molly Baker, born 14 September 1915, died 2 July 1930, aged 14
4. Peggy Baker, born 28 July 1917

Mary Anne married secondly a man by the name of Fouraker in 1919. By him, she had another child:

5. Richard James Brew, born ca. 1887 in St. Martins In The Field, London, who married Mary Castelnovo, in 1913 in St. Martins in the Field, London. Their children were:

1. Herbert James "Jim" Brew, born 2 January 1920, died 8 January 2000, who married firstly Ethel (maiden name unknown)

Herbert married secondly Hilary Gower in 1969, by whom he had a son
