In line with my policy of acknowledging ownership and copyright of images and text used in all of my books and research, and in keeping with my statement on page ix of "A Ruddy Awful Waste", I wish to clarify that Flt Lt Eric Lock’s medals, including his DSO and DFC & Bar, which appear among the images between pages 158 and 159 of "A Ruddy Awful Waste" were sold to a private collector by Flt Lt Lock’s sister. Whilst the photographs of them that appear in the book were taken by Philip Meyers at 41 Squadron’s 95th Anniversary event at RAF Coningsby in 2011, the collector agreed to put them on display at that event, and retains ownership of the medals. | ||
