The Area of Attack on the 36 Ulster Division's Section of the Front on 1 July 1916

Back to Major John George Brew

This cut-out is from a scanned original 1916 Ordinance Survey map, showing the 36 Ulster Division's objectives on 1 July 1916. The writing and other pen marks upon it are also original. The 9th Battalion's starting point for the attack was at Hamel, north of Albert. Martinsart, to where the 9th withdrew after the battle, is south south-east of Hamel.
